About Dentures

  • HOW EASY IS IT TO ADJUST TO WEARING DENTURES?

It is absolutely normal for new dentures to feel a bit strange at first, but rest assured that you will not look any different. You will soon start to smile, talk and eat as confidently with your dentures as you would with your natural teeth.

  • WILL DENTURES AFFECT MY SENSE OF TASTE?

Your food may taste a bit different at first while your mouth adjusts to the feel of the denture, but food will soon start to taste normal again.

  • DO I TAKE MY DENTURES OUT AT NIGHT?

If you choose to keep your dentures in overnight, always clean them thoroughly before going to bed. However, leaving your dentures out at night gives your mouth and gums a good opportunity to recover from the effort of supporting your dentures during the day.

  • HOW DO I CARE FOR MY DENTURES?

Dentures always need to be cleaned morning and night. Just like with natural teeth, food particles and plaque need to be removed from dentures. This is best done with a product specially designed to clean dentures, such as Polident.

  • MY DENTURES ARE HURTING. WHAT SHOULD I DO?

Make an appointment to visit us as soon as possible. Dentures should not be painful. If they hurt, it is likely that something is not quite right.
